Busy Spring Property Market for 2021
The Spring has always signified an upturn in people looking to move, and (normally!) more sunshine and better weather mean house hunting in earnest, rather than just online searches begin. But this year we are seeing significantly more than just a slight upturn in the market in our local area. Even during the darker wintry months we have seen high levels of activity in the Surrey/Sussex market.
There has been lots of recent news stories about what may have caused this hotting up in the market, and initial thoughts were it was built up demand from the first lockdown. But that wave of increased activity has definitely passed and yet we are still seeing high demand. The market was no doubt helped by the stamp duty reduction too – but the trend we are seeing locally is not driven by this alone.
One reason most property experts will agree on is one key driver is people not being tied to commuting into a town or city office location, as well as the desire for more access to open green space on your doorstep. The working landscape has definitely changed and many people have been left with more choice than just where a train station is, being at the top of their Wishlist. These changes have certainly influenced buyers who have quickly realised what amazing benefits there are to being based in Cranleigh and the surrounding villages. Let’s be honest who wouldn’t want to live here!
Week in week out we are seeing an influx of potential buyers who are sadly missing out on being able to buy their dream home. Properties are moving quickly and, in many cases, could be sold 4 or 5 times over!
