This weekend there was, for the first time in over 2 years, a celebration in Cranleigh for the Christmas lights switch on (by the Chancellor!). We’re proud to be one of the many sponsors that support the lights as it makes for such a wonderful sight in the village. It really was a wonderful event and we think it marks the start of the festivities and being able to legitimately mention Christmas.

If you missed that event or it left you feeling excited about future events coming up in the local Surrey/Sussex area here are our highlights for some great ways to get your dose of Christmas cheer for all the family!

3rd December – Between 10 am-3 pm, the final Surrey Hills Artisan Market will take place in Cranleigh High Street.  A great opportunity to shop local and sort all of your Christmas shopping in one place.

8th December – We’re so lucky to have a thriving Arts ntre in Cranleigh and the Cranleigh Community choir will be showcasing their singing, dancing and musical talents in this festive concert.

6th & 13th December – ‘Beer and Carols’ what’s not to love! Firedbird Brewery in Rudgwick and Alfold Parish Church have teamed up again this year but with 2 dates as the event is always so popular! Singing classic carols as well as tasting a range of Firebird’s craft ales and a mince pie or two inside the brewery has proved a huge hit – make sure you book tickets in advance.

10th & 11th of December – Sayers Croft Activity Centre in Ewhurst has a Christmas Trail which the kids will love, craft and outdoor activities, as well as toasting marshmallows and a visit to see Mr FC himself!

11th December - If you’d like to be a bit more active in December why not join the Cranleigh Santa Dash? This event for children and adults offer the chance to run, jog or walk 5km, with the option of a 10k route for the adults. This fun run starts and finishes at Stocklund square with the route using the Downs link and Snoxhall Fields. Dressing up in Christmas attire is not essential but highly advised!

23rd December  – The Richard Onslow in Cranleigh has a whole host of events going on in December, but last year a stand-out evening was the Christmas Carols! Grab yourself a drink, wrap and warm and join a friendly crowd outside of the pub to sing all of the classic carols with all the family.

There are so many more events going on in our local area we couldn’t possibly mention them all!  But we hope that we’ve given you some ideas, especially if you have only recently moved to the area of some great ways of spending time with family and friends this December.

From all the team at Roger Coupe we’d also like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for the Christmas Season.
